How time flies. It was exactly a year
back that I started the Garden Today website in anticipation of the ngs open day
in June 02. So, should you be so inclined, you can now view the garden as it was
on Sept 7th 02
or indeed any week since (see Garden Today
Archive)
A year on, all the beds have really filled out. However, the very hot August
means that more of the flowers are over. The leaves are falling early from the
trees and the fungi has arrived. Saying that, the sedums etc. are now
looking superb. The cannas (a hot Mediterranean flower) have had a bumper year.
Time to start planning for next year. The hard landscapers are in again November
to build some more walls! And the bulb order should arrive soon....lots more
(and different) alliums as they were such a hit this year.

The water lilies have looked a lot better this year | A view through the herbaceous plants on the upper slope with cosmos, verbena and a bank of calendulas in the background |
