21st - 22nd April 05
After a short flight to Glasgow and
3hr drive past Loch Lomond, we boarded the Hebridean Princess at Oban.
The following day it was walks on Colonsay, a short cruise over lunch and then a
visit to Iona.

Leaving Oban in the evening |
The
walk started on Kiloran Bay on Colonsay. After 25 years of fairly
successful endeavours to never get my feet wet, the walk started with a
wade through a river! So wet feet for the whole walk! But it was a fabulous sunny day and the walk was wonderful |
After lunch on board, we had to go ashore in Iona in a tender or inflatable. So having got my feet dry by putting my boots in the engine room, I then got soaked from the spray again as the speedboat raced to shore through the choppy waters. Great fun though! |

Iona Abbey. It's latest claim to fame is that the Labour leader John Smith is buried here. |
