9th August 07 - Brant Fell and Bowness
Sometimes the most wonderful places are closest to home. We arrived this afternoon after a quick journey. The weather is magnificent. Brant Fell is no more than a quarter mile from our place.
Walked up Brant Fell, across to Matson Ground and Helm Farm and back via Biskey Howe to the 'village' of Bowness.

Brant Fell is less than 600ft but the views are super. Looking North along Windermere to Ambleside and beyond |

What could be better? |

Biskey Howe - yards from our place in the Lakes |

Bowness 'village' is busy - just as it should be in the height of the season! |

The Spinnery bedecked in flowers at the end of our road. |

I guess The Royal Oak is our 'local'. Anyway it is the very start (or end...) of the Dalesway |
