21st Aug 04 -Grisedale
Wonderful, sunny day...at last.
Started at Patterdale (head of Ullswater) and did a 6-miler through the
Grisedale valley. This is often used by walkers as an access to Helvellyn or
Fairfield, but is a beautiful walk in its own right.

The views over Ullswater as you start the walk are wonderful. |
This was the view you had to put up with throughout the walk. |
That Ullswater view again |
You can just see the Ruthwaite Lodge, climbing hut, used as a resting place for those on their way to Dollywagon Pike and on to Helvellyn (out of sight) |
The footbridge across Grisedale Beck that marked the turning point for our return to Patterdale. |
