20th July 07 - Honister Via Ferata
Something really different today. We went to the
Honister Slate Mine which has just opened it Via Ferrata. Basically a guided and
"attached" climb taking you through the slate mines right up to the
top of Fleetwith Pike - c2150ft.
Takes about 2 hours and is really quite "strenuous". A lot of rock
climbing and even more very steep ascents.
