19th Mar 04 - Elterwater, Slaters Bridge and
Colwith Force
Storms throughout the night, so we thought today would be a 'washout'. But,
although very windy, it didn't rain on us once. Indeed the sun came out
occasionally. However, it was very wet underfoot. so much water that we couldn't
make it across some of the streams and had to take detours.
We did the 'classic Langdale' walk. Starting at car park near Skelwith Bridge,
walking to Elterwater, up and across to Slater's Bridge and back taking in
Colwith Force.
But, on this 100th Anniversary of William Wordsworth writing "I wandered
lonely as a cloud...", what better photo to start with than...
