14th May 04 - Cartmel, Holker Hall,
Hampsfield Fell
Another lovely sunny day. We started at Cartmel and walked through the woods
to Holker Hall. Wonderful gardens - particularly the rhododendrons. Then across
open meadows to climb Hampsfield Fell as the views of Grange-over-Sands opened
up. At the top is the famous Hospice.
Then a very steep descent back down to Cartmel. About 9 miles and quite exhausting on a hot day.
