10th May 03 - Gurnal Dubs
A 7-miler starting at Burneside then a long
tramp up Potter Fell to visit three tarns - Gurnal Dubs, Potter Tarn and Ghyll
Pool. All built to serve the paper mill in the valley below. Bit of a trudge on
way up - mainly because the view is behind you!
But then it gets better. The walk down through the old forest and then along the
banks of the River Kent is lovely.
all-in-all not "one of the best" but very close by to our place - so
worth doing for a change!
