10th August 07 - Catbells
Drive to Keswick on Derwent Water. Took the launch
to Hawes End and climbed Catbells (1500ft) before descending to Myrtle Bay and
catching the launch back. About 6 miles.
Sunny at the start but then the cloud came down but it stayed dry. Great!

| From the launch looking down Derwent Water |
| You can see the whole of Catbells here. The 'false' first summit of Skelgill Bank and then the 'proper' summit of Catbells further along the ridge |
| Nearly there... |
| The ridge walk and the scramble near the summit. You can see Bassenthwaite beyond. |
| On the summit... |
| ...along with a lot of others today! Still, most of the rest of the year we are on our own! |
| Lovely view of the valley with 'Little Town' snuggling at the bottom |
| Myrtle Bay on the banks of Derwent Water as we headed for the launch landing stage and our return to Keswick |
