Garden - 12th Aug 18
After around 8 weeks of NO rain and hot, hot sun (almost every day 80F+ and often >90F) the heavens opened and we have had a lot of torrential rain for the last week or so. The garden so needed it. It is starting to recover - but quite a few of the shrubs are dead.
As you can see the grass is only just starting to recover |
Begonias in the pots have been well watered so now look good |
The dahlias in the beds are way behind last year's due to the drought. Starting to recover now. |
Dahlias in the pots look great! Well, they have been fed and watered throughout the drought. |
Fennel |
Planter by the greenhouse with Mo's fuchsia looking good for another year |
Hanging basket by annex door |
Hibiscus |
The beds on the lower path have looked awful in the drought. First signs of recovery now... |
Great year for the petunias as they love sun |
Down in the forest part of the garden. The oak tree still going strong as are the many tees I planted as saplings nearly 20 years ago |
Best year ever for outdoor tomatoes! |
