8th July 12 - Chapman's Pool
After all the awful weather, Sunday brought some respite. Sunny but very damp underfoot. Started by Chapman's Pool along the SW Coastal Path to Worth Matravers. About 5 miles.
Absolutely wonderful views over Chapman's Pool as we start |
St Adselm's chapel (over 1000 year old. King John is reputed to have visited) and the old coastguards cottages |
Monument to the 2nd World War Radar Scientific Station. Bombed by the Germans |
Stile not style! |
Winspit quarry |
Stopped off for fish 'n chips at the NT restaurant on Knoll Beach. Yes, there were proper holiday makers on the beach. |
