4th May 12 - Ancona and visit to Urbino

Docked on a gloriously sunny day in Ancona and drove the 90km to the hill village of Urbino. -a UNESCO World Heritage site. We visited the Palazzo Ducale with its amazing pictures.

Palazzo Ducale. Houses many famous Renaissance pictures like Piero della Francesco's Flagellation and La Muta by Raphael Sanzio

The Ideal City from the 15th century. Considered to be the best and earliest true use of perspective.

The cathedral

Urbino is a University town - full of students. We ate this in the square for lunch for 17 Euros. Just the 2 icecreams cost us 50 Euros in St Mark's Sq in Venice.
