2nd Jan 11  Puerto Montt, Chile

The weather on the 1st Jan was PERFECT and we sailed into a beautiful sunset backed by the snowcapped Andes. But when we arrived in Puerto Montt it was overcast. That's how it remained all day. So we never got to see the Osorno Volcano! It was a long bus ride plus catamaran trip too - all to see very little!

Bus trip took us from Puerto Montt to Puerto Varas and on to Petrohue and a trip on the Emerald Lake to 'not see' "the reflection of the snow covered volcanoes in the crystal clear emerald waters of Lake Llanquihue" . Well that's what the guidebook said.

Now heading out to sea on way to Valparaiso. There has just been a 7.1 earthquake at Concepcion which is 'on the way'. Captain warned of a tsunami and very rough seas...
