Aboard the Mariner
Euan wanted some photos to show what it is like on board.
This is our suite and Granddad sitting on our balcony reading the newspaper |
This is the pool deck with three Jacuzzis . |
You can play lots of different games. Do you know which ones from the pictures above? |
You can play the slot machines (we don't! |
Read a book from the library (we do) |
Or watch a show in the theatre |
Or you can eat! There are four restaurants. At the top is the main restaurant where we have our dinner. Signatures in a Cordon Bleu French restaurant and Sevens is a Steak and Lobster restaurant. Then there is La Verandah which serves a buffet. But there are always places where someone will cook you some pasta (above), a pizza or an egg for breakfast. In between there is tea time and, if you are still hungry, there is 24hr room service. All 'free'. |
The ship even has glass fronted elevators! |
The Captain (his name is Stan) is in charge of driving the ship. He spends his time on the bridge which you can see in the picture below. |
When you get on board you have to do a lifeboat drill. You put on your life jacket and practice getting into the lifeboats. |
If someone falls overboard, you should throw them a lifebuoy. Even if they can't catch it, the lifebuoy will mark their location so the captain can turn the boat around and return to pick them up. |
