17th Aug 08 - Birk Fell

'Sunshine and HEAVY showers' was the order of the day. Started from the car park at Low Tilberthwaite and climbed up the steps to Tilberthwaite Gill and on past Dry Cove Bottom to Birk Fell. Wonderful views but the heavy rain cut the walk short.

On and on we climbed towards Birk Fell

The rain clouds roll in. Within minutes the rain was very heavy and the cloud had descended. We decided to retreat. Disappointing but it rained heavily all the way back and we were soaked.

We MUST repeat this walk as it has the makings of a classic walk
