It has been one of the wettest Augusts on record. The result is that the flowers have not only lasted longer but are about 2-3 weeks behind last year. I've never known the garden still so green and fresh for September.

Dahlias, cannas and hibiscus on the belvedere taken from the top slope
Busy lizzies and nasturtiums around the main lawn
This is a part of the garden I tend not to photograph. We had too many busy lizzies this year so planted the spares in the woodland. Perfect shady conditions for busy lizzies!
The part of the slope had looked bare in previous years but is now filling up well.
Towards the bog garden and the huge guneras
Where I sit in the evening to listen to the Archers!
At the very bottom of the garden, adjoining the Greensands Way public footpath, we planted loads of bare rooted trees in 2000. Just starting to look the part!
Because we pruned the vines on the pergola, we've got grapes for the first time.
September IS Cannas month. A superb example, if I might say!
