18th July 04

About the coldest, wettest June I can remember. It has compensations though. Last year's heat wave at this time of year made the flowers go over very quickly. I reckon we are 2-3 weeks behind this year so there is STILL a lot to look forward to.

The lavender is in its prime. Alive with buzzing bees.
Waterlillies on the pond are much better this year. They are the 'deep water' variety which will eventually cover the whole surface. Many years to go for that though!
The seat on the belvedere
Another seat on the path
Yet another seat on the path! On a slope like ours, you need every resting place you can get.
A mass of bright colours
Bog garden. The astilbes are at their zenith at the moment.
OTT patio pots!
I particularly like this view. It seems to sum up everything I am attempting to create. Just huge swathes of colour all tumbling over the path and banks. Not a patch of bare earth in sight...just flowers, flowers, flowers. Bliss!
