21st - 22nd April 05

After a short flight to Glasgow and 3hr drive past Loch Lomond, we boarded the Hebridean Princess at Oban.
The following day it was walks on Colonsay, a short cruise over lunch and then a visit to Iona.

On the Bonny, Bonny banks of Loch Lomond
Leaving Oban in the evening
The walk started on Kiloran Bay on Colonsay. After 25 years of fairly successful endeavours to never get my feet wet, the walk started with a wade through a river! So wet feet for the whole walk!
But it was a fabulous sunny day and the walk was wonderful
After lunch on board, we had to go ashore in Iona in a tender or inflatable. So having got my feet dry by putting my boots in the engine room, I then got soaked from the spray again as the speedboat raced to shore through the choppy waters. Great fun though!

Iona Abbey. It's latest claim to fame is that the Labour leader John Smith is buried here.
