8th May 03 - High Rigg

A cold and windy day for a superb 6.5 miler starting at the end of Thirlmere and climbing up Wren Crag to walk the ridge to High Rigg. Then down to the delightful church in St John in the Vale before a walk by Shawbank Crag, through the forest and then over St John's Beck by the stepping stones.
All the way there are superb views of Blencathra and Skiddaw with glimpses of Thirlmere and, in the other direction, Derwent Water.
