28th May 05 - Coppermines

Caroline and Alasdair joined us last night. They had an horrendous c9 hr trip on the motorway. Unfortunately the weather today did not compensate. It was wet, misty and quite cold. Anyway we did a 6+ miler/1300ft up Coppermines from Coniston.

At the start of the steep climb beside Levers Water Beck
Nearly at the top.
At Levers Water where it was pouring with rain, cold and the mist was descending fast.
In Boulder Valley
On the way down with the view over Coniston
A shaft of sunshine (short-lived) over Coniston village and the end of the lake.
