21st Aug 04 -Grisedale

Wonderful, sunny day...at last.
Started at Patterdale (head of Ullswater) and did a 6-miler through the Grisedale valley. This is often used by walkers as an access to Helvellyn or Fairfield, but is a beautiful walk in its own right.

Choose your route!
The views over Ullswater as you start the walk are wonderful.
This was the view you had to put up with throughout the walk.
That Ullswater view again
You can just see the Ruthwaite Lodge, climbing hut, used as a resting place for those on their way to Dollywagon Pike and on to Helvellyn (out of sight)
The footbridge across Grisedale Beck that marked the turning point for our return to Patterdale.
