16th Oct 04 - Angle Tarn and Hayeswater

The day started 'OK' but the weather got worse and worse. First mist then rain.
We probably shouldn't have attempted this high level walk. We started at Hartsop and climbed up (and up!) to Borsdale Hause with its views over Ullswater. Then the mists came down. You could hardly see your hand in front of your face. So it was a blind trudge along to Angle Tarn. Then along Satura Crag to the Knott before a steep descent to the dam at the end of Hayeswater. Then a long walk alongside Hayeswater Gill back to Hartsop.
About 7.5 miles and would have been truly wonderful on a sunny day.

At the start of the walk looking back towards Brotherswater.
At Boredale Hause looking down on the start of Ullswater at Patterdale.
On the ridge walk looking towards Hallin Fell at the other end of Ullswater
Angle Tarn in the mist
The dam at the end of Hayeswater. You can see how low the mist had come by then.
