15th June 03 - Great Howe and Thirlmere

Another hot day!
Started at the Swirls Car Park, walked along the wooded shore of Thirlmere and then climbed Great Howe. Then across the dam with its Victorian castellated valve house before climbing to the pathway halfway up the valley for the walk back.
About 8 miles/4.5 hrs. But seemed a lot longer in the heat.
