14th Sept 04 - Coniston

We had intended to do a walk on the east side of Coniston at Selside, but we got prevented by the floods on the lakeside road.
So we returned to Coniston and then walked up beside Church Beck (which was in full flood) which is the start of the ascent to the Coniston Old Man. Then a lovely high level walk looking down on Coniston glistening in the sun. We then made our way across Torver Common to the Coniston shoreline and returned.
About 6 miles
