14th Sept 03 - Lingmoor Fell
A 9 mile/5 1/2 hour walk starting at Elterwater and climbing the 1400ft Lingmoor Fell with ever more wonderful views across everything from the Helvellyn range, Windermere  and the Langdales. At one point Blea Tarn comes into view - all sparkling in the sunshine. Then a descent to Wall End and a walk back along the Cumbria Way with views of the Langdale Pikes across the valley. We needed a drink at Chapel Stile before returning to the car.
Perhaps an hour too long for such a hot day...but marvelous none the less.
