13th Sept 04 - Loughrigg

Probably THE classic walk from Ambleside but we haven't done it for a year or so. Start at Ambleside and go through Rothay Park then climb up the side of Loughrigg Fell and down to skirt the beautiful Loughrigg tarn. Then that lovely walk along Loughrigg Terrace looking down first on Grasmere and then on Rydal Water, before retuning along the banks of the River Rothay. As it had been pouring with rain, it was a flooded torrent!
About 5-6 miles.
