12th August 07 - Lingmoor

Overcast again. But we headed for Elterwater and the start of our Lingmoor none the less. It was fine to begin with but poured with rain on the descent.
At 1400ft the walk is not that tough. But the long walk back makes it over 8 miles which began to be a bit wearisome.

Fantastic views though.

The first cairn on Lingmoor. You can see Windermere in the background.
Checking the GPS in the shelter
Following the wall to the summit
At the summit
Following the wall down
Suddenly Blea Tarn comes into view
Finally down with this magnificent view up the Langdales.
Then the long trudge back - albeit with wonderful views all the way!
