12th Feb 07 - Cannanore

Sailed overnight to Cannanore. Again in very calm seas.

Cannanore with its fishing boats
We went to (another!) fort, a local museum and a weaving factory. It was like going back 200 years with all the looms hand and foot powered. The ladies earn £1 a day
Everywhere we went, we were the curiosity. Here the weaving ladies come out to take a peek at the tourists!
Caused a commotion when we drove past the local school!
It was the street scenes that really fascinated me. Normal people going about their daily business - stalls selling everything line every street.
Brightly coloured buses at the Bus Station
The clean, white Morris Ambassador caught my eye. I thought "God's Own Country" only applied to the Lake District?
