31st July 05 - Surtsey and the Westmann Islands
The day started with a cruise around
the Westmann Islands. Unique as many were only formed recently. In the case of
Surtsey as recently as 1963. Already over 60 species of plant have been found
together, this year, with the first nesting puffins.
We then set off on the long and rough passage to Greenland.
