2nd August - Prins Christian Sund

We steamed through sea mist (scary as there were so many icebergs around) down to the very tip of Greenland. As we approached Cape Farewell the mist lifted to the most glorious sunny day - apparently a rarity!
We then became one of only about three liners to cruise through the Prins Christian Sund this year. About 56 miles of fjord acting as a shortcut linking the East to the West of Greenland. It's completely icebound for most of the year.

One of many icebergs in the sea
Cape Farewell
An iceberg dead ahead as we entered Prins Christian Sund
It got narrower and narrower
Glaciers everywhere you looked
The Navigator squeezing through
It almost seemed as if you could step off the boat onto the mountains
Wonderful scenery and freezing cold but people in the pool!
Looking back
Some of the most wondrous scenery I have ever seen
The moment we reached the open sea, the mist descended again.
