23rd Oct 17 - Lima Day 1

Lima, with its 10m inhabitants, has horrendous traffic. As we had visited before (see http://www.richardholway.com/B233%20Lima%2011th%20May%2015.htm ) we went on a tour called 'Colonial Lima'.

Plaza de Armas
Presidential Palace and Cathedral in Plaza Major
Plaza St Martine
One of Lima's markets
'Keep off the Grass'
We were taken on a special visit to Casa Aliaga - South America's best preserved colonial mansion, which has been occupied by the same family since 1535. Indeed is still occupied today
The Church of the Jesuit Convent of San Pedro
San Marcos University. Lovely cloisters full of flowers.   They put on these actors in vintage dress for us!
Elizabeth waiting for the bus.
We thought this cat was stuck in the railings. But the guards said it slept there everyday!
