13th Sept 13 - St Malo

It was a first for us to board at Southampton without having to get on a plane. Really great way to start. It was sunny in Southampton Water but rained overnight and was decidedly chilly and overcast for our arrival across the Channel in St Malo.

Aboard Seven Seas Voyager in Southampton Water
The pretty beach at St Malo from our suite on arrival
Voyager lying at anchor in St Malo alongside the Condor ferry similar to the one that we often see leaving Poole from The Beach House. We tendered in today.
The main square in St Malo with its many cafes
We walked around the ramparts
Plateau de fruits de mer. Lobster, crab, langoustine, shrimp, oysters, a bottle of Muscadet ...and Rince Doigts (which will bring back good memories for Sarah and Louise).
We bought some wonderful meringues with walnuts. An old man insisted on taking our photo as we sat on the bench overlooking the harbour.
