Back to the Crimea, Ukraine. Yalta is a lovely resort backed by lush vegetation and 3000ft mountains.

Yalta is most famous for the Swallow's Nest Castle "majestically perched 125ft above the sea".
Also famous for Livadia Palace - the summer residence of the last Russian Tsar, Nicholas 2nd.
Also famous as the location where the fate of post-war Europe was decided in 1945 between Churchill, Roosevelt and Stalin. In this very Great White Room!
Then on to another palace - Vorontsov Palace which hosted Winston Churchill during the Crimean Conference.
Both palaces were very crowded. We often had to pay to use the loos too - payable to rather 'imposing' communist-looking women. But here we were issued with WC tokens which Diana and I decided to keep as mementos...
