14th June 09 - Gummer's How and Cartmel fell

Although we have done bits of this walk before, it was only because of my GPS that I was able to do this circular route.

Started up Gummer's How then down to the reservoir (a hairy walk along the dam!) and a superb walk through Birch Fell Plantation. We then skirted Whinny Knot and across to Cartmel fell with glorious views of the countryside to Morecambe bay. Then back via Sow How tarn.

About 5 miles and quite excellent!

The reservoir. You could almost believe we we were the only people ever to have visited it
