2nd - 3rd Oct 08 - Osaka

Arrived at the Swissotel, Osaka at about 11.00pm on 1st Oct. Knackered!
After a fitful night's sleep we then exhausted ourselves with a 6 hour walking tour of Osaka.
Osaka is a modern city which is not particularly 'touristy'. In particular, most signs are in Japanese only.

Boarded the Mariner on 3rd Oct.

First stop was the Umeda Sky Building
At the top the towers are linked by glass escalators
You get quite a view of the city and the Yodo River from the top
A trip on the tube. A bit daunting as it's all in Japanese so you don't know what the stations are called.
Osaka Castle and its moat
Osaka Castle
View from the top with its gold-leafed fishtails
A trip on the Aqualiner
3rd Oct - View from our cabin over Osaka Harbour

Ferris Wheel on the harbourside.
We departed at 11.00pm for a day's sailing though the Sea of Japan to Nagasaki.
